on beautiful, 18th-century chain-laid paper

Joseph Weinmann was the wealthy director of the longest-established pharmacy in Regensburg, Germany
His Phytanthoza Iconographia (1737-1745), a vast work in 8 folio volumes with over a thousand hand-coloured engravings representing several thousand plants,
forms an interesting and valuable 18th Century florilegium. Weinmann retained a number of excellent engravers to carry our this work.

Condition: Excellent. A couple of stray, unobtrusive watercolor marks (?): one just below the bottom-most flowers of the hyacinth on the left;
the other small spot between the leaves of the blue hyacinth—otherwise remarkably clean and vibrant. A fine and rare example of Weinmann's work that is now over 250 years old!
